Educational Qualification:
Candidate should have completed 08th, a Degree, a master’s Degree from any of the recognised boards or universities.

How to Apply Online for WBFSL Scientific Assistant, Scientific Officer, and Driver Jobs 2025
Interested and eligible candidates can apply offline through the prescribed application format. The Applicant needs to send the application form along with relevant self-attested documents to the Administrator, State Forensic Science Laboratory, West Bengal, 37/1/2, Belgachia Road, 3. Kolkata-700037 on or before 30 December 2025.
Duties to be performed:
1. Scientific Offieer – Observing and documenting the entire scene of crime to understand the events, taking high-quality photographs, creating detailed sketches and writing meticulous notes of observations, evidence location and context, identifying, collecting, cataloging, and preserving all relevant physical evidence (biological, trace, firearms, digital) using proper methods to prevent contamination, applying advanced methods to locate latent prints or enhanced traces, briefing senior investigators and collaborating with police and medical staff, ensuring the “chain of custody” for all collected items before transport to the lab.Running the mini lab in the district forensic unit.
2. Scientific Assistant – Assist senior officers in examining the forensic cases, assists in documenting, collecting, and preserving physical evidence like fingerprints, DNA, weapons, and trace materials, using photography, sketching, and meticulous recording, while maintaining strict chain-of-custody, preparing for lab analysis, and ensuring scene integrity, all to support forensic investigations and potentially provide expert testimony.
3. Driver– Safely operating an assigned forensic vehicle to transport the crime scene investigation team, their extensive equipment (cameras, evidence kits, casting materials, etc.), and supplies to and from the scene, Ensuring the assigned vehicle is maintained in good running condition and ready for immediate deployment at all times, under strict chain of custody protocols, potentially transporting packaged and documented evidence from the scene to a secure storage facility or a forensic laboratory for analysis, strategically parking the vehicle to ensure it is close enough for easy access to equipment but does not obstruct the scene or destroy potential evidence on the periphery.
